About
Our family first came to a saving knowledge of the gospel over thirty years ago. Each of us here at Isaiah 59, have come to recognize our guilt of living rebelliously toward God by walking contrary to His righteous commandments, and that before the true light of God’s law we are clearly shown to be sinful individuals. It is only by the grace of God and through Christ’s sacrifice that we have been set free from the judgment of sin. Our faith is in the hope that we no longer belong to ourselves, but that we have been bought by Christ to be used for His will, His purpose, and His Kingdom.
It is our desire to know, love, and obey God; to gain understanding and wisdom that we might live for that which is meaningful and eternal. It is also our prayer to point others to Jesus Christ, His Word (the Source of all truth), and to glorify God now in the times in which we live.
We on our own have no victories, successes, or wisdom to tell. We are sinful, shakable, and struggling. Yet, God in His love has graciously allowed us to be learning through the battles which we have fought, and it is our desire to share what we have learned – to point others to a personal relationship with the Father, through the Son, by the working of the Holy Spirit. It is our prayer that all who are seeking, turn to the Source of life, righteousness, and truth. Look to Jesus Christ and believe His Word. Man’s success and words are not eternal, but God’s Word will endure to the end.
Beliefs
We believe in the God of the Bible, Who is One God in three Persons; the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. He is the almighty Creator, Who is eternal and worthy of all glory, honor, and praise. We believe that the Bible is the very Word of God and that it alone stands as our authority on truth. We believe that the doctrine and the history in the Bible bear connection and are to be taken literally, particularly in the Bible’s account of a recent six day creation. We believe that creation was originally perfect, and that death, disease, pain, and suffering are the result of our choice as mankind to disobey God. We sinned against a holy and perfect God and deserve the eternal punishment in Hell, and the ONLY way to flee from the wrath to come is through repentance and faith in Jesus Christ. We believe that Jesus is the Son of God, Who though being God, humbled Himself by coming down to earth and becoming a Man to stand as the substitute for sinners. He was born of a virgin, lived a sinless life, died on the cross as the sacrificial lamb of God for the sin of men, was buried, and rose again the third day as He said He would. We believe that Jesus Christ will return to judge the world in righteousness, establish His Kingdom, and reign and rule in His rightful place.
